Particularly, he brought to mind, "To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good...All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills."(1 Cor 12:7, 11)

Years ago, while studying Exodus 35:20-34, I saw this principle more clearly in Isreal's preparation to build a tabernacle for God. God gave a plan to Moses and he also provided the workers and their desires for the work. Isreal's story clearly illustrates the work of the Spirit in empowering people to do the work of God.

Your story also illustrates the same.Evan Stewarthttp://www.singletreeproduction.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407352867539753060.post-14509756913086794532010-07-29T19:44:02.113-07:002010-07-29T19:44:02.113-07:00I was going to suggest you bring Deet, but I see i...I was going to suggest you bring Deet, but I see it's already on your list! You might want to bring a little flashlight, too, as electricity is spotty at best in Haiti, and there are no street lights (you'll get the most gorgeous view of the stars when you take an evening stroll). Be prepared for a nice -- er -- COOL shower, even in the hotel. It will be refreshing!

Another good word to remember -- Merci (thank you).

You'll have a wonderful time!Laura Christiansonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03461465700265718045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407352867539753060.post-39188418920508704782010-07-27T08:22:35.191-07:002010-07-27T08:22:35.191-07:00My wife and I are planning a neighborhood cook out...My wife and I are planning a neighborhood cook out in a few weeks. This will be a time to get to know our neighbors and also start relationships, through which we can show God's love to many who do not know Him. I was originally thinking of grilling plain ol' burgers, but ribs sound even better.Evan Stewarthttp://www.singletreeproduction.comnoreply@blogger.com
